Teachers national executive elections deferred for another two weeks

More than 13, 000 members of the PNG Teachers Association will have to wait another two weeks to elect the associations' office bearers. 

The issue of writs for the national executive elections was dotted down for Friday.

Acting PNGTA National General Secretary Kingston Alu said the deferment for issue of writs to 11th April has been approved by the office of the Industrial Registrar, following the incumbent General Secretary being hospitalized.

The PNG Electoral Commission who is responsible for running the nationwide polling has been informed of the postponement.

The new date for nomination will run from 11th April to 3rd May 2024.

Screening of nominees will run between 6-10th May.   

Thirteen August is marked for return of writs of national PNGTA executive's election.
