Seven suspects allegedly involved in the recent disruption and robbery at Bishop Leo Secondary School are now in police custody.

Police say the seven surrendered to Nuigo Ward 13 Councillor Tednold Wali and were handed over to police yesterday afternoon.

Police are continuing efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects, with 20 suspects reportedly identified in connection with the incident.

East Sepik Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Christopher Tamari has strongly condemned the incident, which affected more than 200 Grade 12 students at Bishop Leo Secondary School last Friday.

PPC Tamari warned young people against becoming involved in similar activities, saying the consequences would not be favourable.

He also commended the collaborative efforts of police personnel, Councillor Wali and the people of Nuigo community for assisting police.
