The casket of the late Sir Julius Chan departed Port Moresby at 12:30 PM today, heading to New Ireland Province for its final resting place.

The casket was transported by a Royal Australian Air Force C-27J aircraft.

Following this, Sir Julius's immediate family boarded a Dash-8 Q200 aircraft.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, state ministers, and other members of Parliament are at the APEC terminal, where they will board a Falcon Jet.

Additionally, senior officials and members of the Papua New Guinea Defense Force are present at the terminal and will board another Air Niugini aircraft.

The personnel from the PNGDF will take part in ceremonial activities as they accompany Sir Julius's body to its final resting place in New Ireland.
