Empowering the Future: NCD Youth Summit & Expo 2024
National Capital District is hosting a four days NCD Youth Summit and Expo 2024 for young people across the region from August 11- 14.
The event brought together youths, leaders, and experts under the theme; Empowering Youths for a Better and Progressive NCD.
The summit is an initiative of the NCD Governor Powes Parkop, designed to align with the United Nations International Youth Day.
This year, the event will focus on empowering young people between the ages of 18-30, to take active roles in the development of Port Moresby and beyond.
The NCD Youth Summit & Expo 2024 is a platform where youths can connect, collaborate, and learn from one another. Some key topics covered during the summit was on networking, skill-building, and youth involvement in digital innovation for sustainable development.
From the first day of the show, participants had the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities designed to inspire and equip them with the knowledge and tools vital to make a positive impact in their communities.
The event featured public walks, expos, and workshops led by prominent speakers, including Prime Minister James Marape, Governor Powes Parkop, and Richard Howard the United Nations Resident Coordinator.
