Simbu PHA Board concludes three-year term
Simbu Provincial Health Authority Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ken Kassi formally commended the outgoing Board of Governance for its decisive leadership and support over the past three years.
Speaking during the board’s farewell over the weekend, Dr. Kassi said the board’s guidance was instrumental in driving major improvements in healthcare delivery across the province.
"Your commitment, vision and partnership with management have positioned Simbu PHA as one of the top-performing health authorities in the country," Dr. Kassi said.
The outgoing board officially concluded its three-year tenure, leaving behind a legacy of performance excellence.
Their collaborative relationship with management was credited for Simbu PHA securing second place nationwide in the 2025 Sector Performance Annual Review, SPAR, report.
Cultivating a positive mindset and building strong partnerships were key themes highlighted during the farewell.
Outgoing Board Chairman David Herman Nime said positive thinking and teamwork are the tools to achieve greater results.
"When a mind is cultivated with negativity, it is just like you drinking poison and expecting someone else to die on your behalf," he said.
Mr. Nime said, despite members coming from non-medical backgrounds, their commitment to public service yielded tangible results for the community.
During this transition period, the CEO will assume all operational authority and will report directly to the National Minister for Health until a new board is appointed.
Management assures the public that health service operations across the province will continue without disruption during the interim period.
