Police team takes recruitment drive to West Sepik
The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary [RPNGC] recruitment team is traveling across West Sepik to assist rural youth in understanding the recruitment process and submitting online applications.
The team has so far visited Lumi and Nuku districts, where 13 applicants from Lumi and 17 from Nuku successfully met the baseline requirements and lodged their applications online.
The team is currently stationed at the Don Bosco Secondary School in Vanimo before traveling to Wewak tomorrow. The awareness program will move to Aitape and Telefomin next week.
RPNGC recruitment team member Sergeant Pati Namora said the constabulary is looking to recruit nearly 700 young men and women nationwide this year.
Sgt Namora explained that the team is deliberately targeting rural and isolated communities because many eligible candidates miss out simply due to a lack of awareness regarding the online application system.
According to the recruitment criteria, applicants must be between 20 and 30 years old and have completed Grade 12 with at least a C grade in English and Mathematics.
Candidates must also meet a height requirement of between 160 and 175 centimetres.
In terms of documentation, applicants are required to produce a national identification [NID] card, or provide an NID registration number alongside a birth certificate and an alternative form of valid identification.
The recruitment team has urged all interested young people to organize and prepare their official documents before attending the scheduled awareness sessions.
