Daki refutes allegations
Minister for Commerce and Industry, Win Bakri Daki has condemned the circulation of social media posts which accused him of misappropriation.
He described it as a "coordinated defamatory campaign" targeted on destroying his reputation before the coming election.
Minister Daki made these remarks in response to claims that allegedly linked him, his family, and his associates to the abuse of public funds in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Responding to serious allegations of abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds, he described the online reports as anonymous attacks rather than factual disclosures.
The Minister's rebuttal follows online discussions surrounding the SME development funds parked under his ministry.
Among the major critics to this saga is the vibrant Opposition Leader, James Nomane, who has publicly condemned the alleged actions of the Minister.
“Instead of the K200 million to reach the people through districts, it goes straight to family members, minister and secretaries and the money is lost within the department, this is very serious and very clear corruption action.” Nomane said.
While the claims continue to make their rounds on social media platforms, Minister Daki has denied any wrongdoing.
He maintains his innocence and describes the claims online as malicious and unverified information and aims to protect his reputation against such attacks to destroy his reputation.
