Water PNG dive assessment underway

Water PNG and a dive team have started work on assessing pipe leakages along the Rouna Water pipeline outside Port Moresby.
The work is being led by Water PNG Chief Executive Officer James Young.
Mr Young told NBC News, who is currently on site, that they will make assessments today and see how best they can address this issue, which could see the city going without water for 48-hours or more.
He says this issue needs to be fixed quickly given the aging infrastructure.
This infrastructure is the main lifeline system which supplies raw water directly to the Mt Eriama treatment plant.
Mr Young also told this newsroom that they hope the pipes do not start bursting sooner, as this would result in a national security threat.
