Papua New Guinea woke up to the aftershock of the Middle East conflict as prices at several pumps increased rapidly.

And for diesel alone, the fuel price at the pumps jumped nearly 80% and the direct impact is already passed to the general public who rely on the privately operated public transport system.

Gerehu PMV bus crew in the Nation's Capital expressed his views on the issue on Wednesday

The ripple effect will be felt nationwide because of the sliding PNG Kina against US Dollar and global shortage of energy supplies, resulting from the Middle East Conflict.

Philip Foi-eke, a passenger on the PMV bus appealed for national government relief support.

He said with public schools returning to classes next week, it will affect his family budget as his children rely on public buses to attend school.
