A newly established training school for Community Health Workers [CHW] in East Sepik has successfully certified 96 health workers to boost rural healthcare in the Greater Sepik Region.

Since it's inception in 2020, Albinama Community Health Workers Training School, celebrated its big milestone on Thursday.

The graduation is a major achievement to East Sepik Provincial Health Authority [ESPHA], showing ESPHA's long-term strategy to strengthen primary healthcare systems through human resource development, aligned with the National Health Plan 2021–2030 and guided by the National Health Administration Act 1997.

This graduation strongly signifies both an academic achievement and a strategic investment in the health and wellbeing of our people.

The 96 CHW graduates will drive primary healthcare in our most remote communities, ensuring that equitable healthcare delivery is maintained.

ESPHA has plans underway to expand training capacity, improve facilities, and strengthen supervision and deployment mechanisms. This will ensure CHWs effective integration into the provincial health system.
