After going down to Solomon Kings on Sunday and having their match against Tahiti United rescheduled to another date due to bad weather, PNG Hekari FC will be searching for their first win when they face off with South Melbourne FC tomorrow in Auckland.

South Melbourne FC also had their previous fixture with the Solomon Kings FC postponed due to the bad weather.

Auckland was under a heavy rain warning on Wednesday; therefore, the OFC made a decision to postpone the matches in the interests of player safety, match officials, and supporters.

Both matches will be rescheduled to a later date within the competition calendar and further details regarding revised fixtures will be communicated in due course.

For South Melbourne FC, they will be searching for their second win for round one while Hekari will be aiming to secure their first OFC Professional League victory.

Meanwhile as round one proceeds in Auckland, the capital of PNG, Port Moresby is already looking forward to hosting the second round of the OFC Pro League from January 31st to February 8th at the Santos National Football Stadium.

PNG Football Association President John Kapi Natto told this newsroom this week that he is excited to see Port Moresby host the second leg of the OFC Professional League.

"On behalf of PNGFA and the football fraternity, I can say that these are exciting times and I am looking forward to welcoming the visiting teams to our shores," he added.
