Feledy set for Kumuls debut
Manly Sea Eagles centre Josh Feledy has been named in the starting PNG Kumuls side for this Friday’s Rugby League World Cup match against England in Wollongong.
After missing their two previous games against Lebanon and Samoa in Port Moresby, Feledy has named in the centres.
The 22-year old’s eligibility for the Kumuls is through his mother and grandfather, who were both born in Papua New Guinea.
Kumuls coach Jason Demetriou confirmed that Feledy is fully fit and ready to play.
“Obviously few changes this week to the team, I am really keen on giving some players the opportunities and Josh Feledy will come in in the centres and Zac Laybutt pushed back to the fullback,” Demetriou said.
Other notable changes will see Liam Horne at lock in place of injured Jack de Belin who sustained a rib injury against Samoa last Saturday.
Robert Derby and Dudley retain their spots on the wing while veteran centre Nene McDonald and forward Luca Moretti both make a return after missing in action last weekend.
The spine will see Gairo Voro, team up with Bailey Biondi-Odo and Edwin Ipape.
Newcastles’ Jacob Taulani will make his debut coming off the bench when he runs out to support the forwards.
The bench features Finley Glare, Robert Mathias, Valentine Richard, Zev John and Sanny Wabo.
Meanwhile England has a stack of experience featuring several NRL and Super League big names who dominated France last weekend.
