A man, Lima Dadok, is missing at sea after the 40-foot dinghy he was traveling in capsized near Siassi, Morobe Province, last Thursday, October 16..

Mr. Dadok was one of six men from Mindere Village in the Raikos District. They were returning from Kimbe, where they had gone to sell betelnut, when their boat experienced engine failure between Lokep and Arop.

The boat later capsized in rough seas, and the men lost all their personal belongings.

After drifting for five days, Mr. Dadok and another passenger jumped overboard to try and swim ashore for help.

The other swimmer was rescued by a passing boat 30 nautical miles off Basamuk. The remaining men on the dinghy were picked up by a fishing boat near Madang and Karkar islands on Tuesday.

The survivors—Uyeb Sailas, Benjamin Gemu, Micah Galuk, and Colin Sinai—were brought to the hospital yesterday. They received IV fluids and were discharged in good condition.

Meanwhile, authorities report that a second person, who went missing while swimming from Pik Island to Krangket Island over a week ago, is also still missing.
