PNG eyes COP30 meeting in Brazil

Prime Minister, James Marape says Papua New Guinea will push for fair climate action for vulnerable rainforest nations.
He says he will remind the world that nations like Papua New Guinea deserve fair treatment and real climate financing — not just promises.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed PNG’s stance that developed and industrialized nations, must uphold their commitments to climate finance and technology transfer.
Mr. Marape says the COP-30 meeting must not be a talking platform for promises, but practical outcomes.
He says PNG will go to COP-30 as a united voice for rainforest nations, carrying a message of climate justice, shared responsibility, and global partnership.
The Prime Minister made these statement while convening an important preparatory meeting with key government agencies for the upcoming COP-30 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Brazil next month.
Prime Minister Marape is scheduled to present the Country Statement in one of the high-level sessions.
