PNG Lewa made a hard win in their historic home ODI series

The PNG Lewas had a hard-fought three-wicket win against the United Arab Emirates Women in Wednesday’s ICC Women’s ODI Series match 2 at Amini Park, Port Moresby.
After winning the toss and elected to field, the PNG Lewas delivered a disciplined bowling performance to dismiss the UAE for 143 runs in 45.4 overs.
Senior bowler Henao Thomas led the attack with a brilliant spell of 4 wickets for 28 runs from her 10 overs, while experienced all-rounder Pauke Siaka was equally impressive with 4 wickets for 39 runs.
Isabel Toua and Geua Tom also picked up a wicket each to keep the visitors under pressure throughout their innings.
In the run chase, the Lewas showed determination and teamwork, reaching 146 for 7 in 42.5 overs to secure victory by three wickets. The win reflects the team’s growing confidence and composure in home conditions, with valuable contributions across the batting order.
