3 dead 13 hospitalised in Magi Highway accident

The Port Moresby General Hospital has confirmed that three people are dead after yesterday's head-on collision along the Magi Highway, near Bautama, in Central Province.
The Hospital's Chief Executive, Dr Paki Molumi says all three adult males sustained polytrauma, including severe traumatic brain injury, chest injuries and hemorrhagic shock.
In a statement this morning, Dr Molumi says 13 people are receiving medical care following the accident.
He says from the 13, three suffered severe traumatic brain injury, five with compounded limb fractures, two with rib fractures, one with a jaw fracture, and two with soft tissue injuries will be discharged soon.
Dr Molumi stated that the hospital's clinical team continues to provide urgent and comprehensive care to those affected.
Meantime, Police from NCD and Central are continuing investigations into yesterday's accident, involving the 15-seater Public Motor Vehicle and an oncoming Isuzu pickup truck.
