Yakasa commends security forces as Porgera-Paiela polling nears end

The Pogera Paiela by-election has concluded its third day of polling today with only 2 boxes left. This is for the Paiela Hewa and Pogera Rural LLGs.
Despite security concerns, the peaceful polling marks a step in the right direction for the new electorate.
Enga Provincial Police Commander Chief Suprintendant Fred Yakasa has commended police and defence personnel who are working tirelessly to ensure this and says that their efforts are truly making a difference.
He further adds that other areas interms of security that needs improvements have all been taken care of and will prepare better for the 2027 National General Elections.
Polling is expected to be completed tomorrow with the casting of votes for 6 boxes in Tumudan for the people of rural Nete Lyam Region.
