Minister Goi declare stern warning on aviation security offenders

Civil Aviation Minister Wake Goi has issued a stern warning to all employees of the aviation industry following trending reports of illicit materials and weapons being smuggled through airports in the country.
Minister Goi said aviation security is paramount and will not be undermine by its frontline workforce.
"Any breaches, particularly those involved in bribery or smuggling of illicit items, will be dealt with severe consequences,"said Minister Goi.
"This is a warning to all stakeholders in the aviation industry. From ground staff, airline operators, pilots, cabin crews and security officers, "added Minister Goi.
Minister Goi emphasized that the integrity of security at all airport terminals is non-negotiable and will not be jeopardise.
He stated that any security officer or staff found to have allowed a prohibited item to bypass screening checkpoints will face instant termination and will be dealt by laws of this land.
Minister Goi's warning also extends to the security companies engaged by the aviation sector. He says those found breaching aviation safety laws will automatically see their company's contract terminated.
"Security is our number one priority and must be maintained at the very highest level," stated the Civil Aviation Minister.
The Minister's crackdown also encompasses chartered flights and operations at rural airstrips.
Minister Goi said any officer discovered assisting with the transport of illegal items on any flights will be fired immediately.
"Furthermore, if a company is repeatedly involved in such incidents, it will lose its contract," said Minister Goi.
"I have tasked Managers of the 22 airports managed by the National Airport Corporation including those overseeing rural airstrips, to ensure proper and thorough checks are conducted during flights.
"Should illegal items like drugs be discovered on an aircraft, the aviation operator, the pilot, and the crew will all face charges for transporting such illegal items,"said Minister Goi.
This zero-tolerance policy also extends to the smuggling of other high-value items like gold.
Minister Goi reminded all aviation employees of their fundamental responsibility to prioritize the safety of the travelling public for both domestic and international flights.
He stressed that all personnel must adhere strictly to the standards and requirements set by the Civil Aviation Authority or face losing their job.
