Papua New Guinea hosts 42nd Green Climate Fund Board Meeting

Papua New Guinea through the Climate Change and Development Authority or CCDA will have the opportunity to showcase its global leadership in climate mitigation and adaptation, climate finance mobilization, sustainable development, and environmental stewardship.
This is through hosting the high level 42nd Green Climate Fund or GCF Board Meeting, today.
PNG’s selection as host highlights the international community’s recognition of our strong commitment to advancing climate solutions and amplifying the voices of Pacific Small Island Developing States [PSIDS] globally.
This meeting marks a significant milestone for PNG, as it will be the first time in nearly a decade that a Pacific Island country hosts a GCF Board Meeting.
The Green Climate Fund, as the world’s largest dedicated climate finance mechanism operating under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change [UNFCCC], plays an important role in supporting climate actions in developing nations.
Prime Minister James Marape, will officially open the meeting, welcoming GCF delegates and other high-level dignitaries.
