Mt Hagen Eagles to return to Rebiamul

The Mt Hagen Wamp Nga Eagles are set to return to their home ground at Rebiamul in Mt Hagen, after spending the past few seasons playing away at the Jonah Ambane Oval in Jiwaka.
The Mt Hagen Eagles Board and Management recently met with Archbishop Clement Papa of the Mt Hagen Catholic Archdiocese to discuss the potential return of the Eagles to their home ground at Rebiamul.
Representing Mt Hagen Eagles Patron William Duma, Mt Hagen City Manager and Eagles Board member Jim Pena said that Rebiamul has always produced the best rugby league talent in the country, making it only fitting for the Mt Hagen Eagles to return there./
Mr. Pena emphasized that they have explored other potential home grounds within the province, but have been unable to find a more central and suitable venue. Therefore, they are now appealing to the Catholic Archdiocese to release Rebiamul as the Eagles’ home ground.

" For a while, the Eagles have not played any home ground games, and it will be just fitting for the team as well as their supporters and the people of Western Highlands to witness their team play their home ground games," Pena stressed.
Archbishop Clement Papa said that Rebiamul currently has limited capacity to accommodate large crowds and urged the Mt Hagen Eagles Board and Management to build a stadium during the time the Eagles use Rebiamul as their home ground.

Archbishop Papa added that Rebiamul will be released to the Eagles as their home ground; however, supporters and all users of the field must respect the mission area on which Rebiamul is situated.
The dialogue held between the parties was successful and the Mt Hagen Wamp Nga Eagles will return to Rabiamul in 2026.
