3rd Flower Show underway in Goroka

The 3rd Goroka Flower Show is currently underway at the YC hall in Goroka.

Over 40 floriculture participants are displaying varieties of flower products in stalls and flower pot arrangements.

With Eastern Highlands Province being a major supplier of cut flowers to various centres around the country,this event provides a platform for networking and business opportunities within the floral industry.

The participants are both male and female from Southern Highlands, Western Highlands, Jiwaka, Simbu, and Morobe provinces who have joined the Eastern Highlands Florists.

There is competition for the 50th anniversary, bilum and bouquet where judges will select the winners in each category.

The show showcases varieties of potted plants and flowers, flower cuttings, and flower arrangements shown by some florists.

The flower show is a lead up to the main event, the Goroka show in September, where floriculture and Agriculture displays will be much bigger.
