West Sepik backs Judiciary with new court infrastructure

The West Sepik Provincial Government will help the National Judicial Staff Service (NJSS) provide court services in the province.
This will start with helping them build a new National Court House, District Court House, houses for judges, and staff houses.
The Acting Provincial Administrator for West Sepik, Eric Sakin, told NJSS Secretary Nicodemus Mosoro, who is in Vanimo to discuss building plans with the Provincial Government, that the district court buildings were condemned and declared unsafe by West Sepik Works in 2020 and now need major repairs.
Mr. Sakin said the West Sepik Provincial Physical Planning Board has already approved land to build the National and District Court House and the Judges' Residence and Staff Residences.

Mr Mosoro said West Sepik is a priority province for them to look at in terms of law and justice.
He further called for the Law and Justice Sector, such as the Public Solicitor, Police, Correctional Services, to all work together to see law and justice prevail in the province.
He commended the West Sepik Provincial Administration for taking the initiative to support NJSS in delivering its services to the province.
A memorandum of agreement will also be signed at a later date between the NJSS and the Magisterial Services, and the West Sepik Provincial Administration once all parties have gone through the agreement.
