Police in Jiwaka province launches Quick Response Unit

A proactive policing response system is in place for the first time, for Jiwaka province to provide quick response to addressing law and order problems.
The was made known by Chief Inspector Laimo Asi, the Jiwaka Provincial Police Commander on Friday this week after launching the Jiwaka Quick Response Unit [QRU] and presentation of two used vehicles at Banz Police station.
Jiwaka PPC Chief Insp Laimo Asi said, this is one of his initiatives after five months serving as Jiwaka PPC.
"Seeing the police mobility and responding to crime scenes or attending to policing matters is inactive."
Chief Insp Laimo said, although they have Highway Patrol in place but it is like proactive to support law and order in the Province.
"This unit is here to stay, and people in Jiwaka need to respect the Police, law, and order in the province," PPC Laimo said.
He clarifies that this unit is a proactive policing system that should be respected by the public.
He said the law and order issues are becoming a major concern for all. By establishing this like the task force unit but only consists of current police serving in Jiwaka.
The Quit Response Unit for Jiwaka Police is the initial step into the establishment of the Task Force Unit for the Province.
