Kundiawa Community Health Worker Training School held its 10th and final graduation of the old, revised curriculum 2014-2025 today.

Established in 2014, the school graduated 327 students, and this year marks the 12th year of its establishment.

Mark Kumul, the principal of the Kundiawa Community Health Worker Training School, said the school has produced many CHWs for the last 11 years, who serve in different parts of the country.

He said with the theme "it's all about them," they strive to produce quality over quantity, and over the years, they have seen the results.

"The school will not make it this far without the help of the Simbu Provincial Government [SPG]. They have been very helpful, and we are able to transit from the revised curriculum, 2014-20125, "he said.

Mr Kumul said the 2025 graduates are the first lot to graduate with the revised and more competency-based curriculum as part of ongoing efforts to improve the health workforce and deliver better primary health care.

Paul Kune, the chairman of the school, encouraged graduates to be committed in their profession to serve the people.

He congratulated them for successfully completing the 49 modules that are required by the NDoH and graduated with the certificate of qualified CHW.

"Since its establishment, students not only from Simbu and Highlands but all over Papua New Guinea enrolled and have graduated," he said.

Despite the heavy downpour, the graduation witnessed parents, friends, and loved ones in Simbu and other provinces turn out in numbers to witness their children being awarded to become health professionals.
