Business is as usual in Lae and Morobe province as a whole with no signs of protests as speculated, with only the University of Technology students ready to present their petition to their Administration today, demanding the Prime Minister James Marape to step down from the Prime Minister's seat by midday today.

According to the Assistant Commmissioner of Police for Northern Command Peter Guinness, the Lae police will not entertain any protests from happening.

NBC News has confirmed that classes at Unitech are normal despite the students' planned peaceful protest today.

NBC News is aware that certain schools, especially the elementary schools have sent their students home for safety reasons.
