Mr. Tol emphasized that collaboration is essential to overcoming the challenges posed by the current housing situation.

He called for a united effort among government agencies, private sector partners, and the community to develop innovative housing solutions that not only address immediate needs but also promote long-term environmental sustainability.

Highlighting the significant hurdles posed by inadequate infrastructure, Mr. Tol pointed out the urgent need for improved urban planning in Port Moresby.

“While infrastructure development is crucial, the National Housing Corporation is committed to enhancing our transport systems and utilities to support new housing projects.

This will ultimately improve the overall quality of life for our residents,” he stated.

Mr. Tol urged public engagement in the planning process, encouraging citizens to voice their needs and concerns regarding housing.

“As we navigate this period of rapid growth, it is vital that we listen to the community and incorporate their feedback into our housing strategies,” he added.

The Acting NHC Managing Director added that the National Housing Corporation is determined to tackle this challenge head-on, but it requires the support and input of the entire community to succeed.
