TPA and ICSA to offer better travel experience for international visitors

The responsibility for promoting domestic and international tourism in Papua New Guinea lies with the Tourism Promotion Authority [TPA]. However, this effort requires collaboration from various government agencies and businesses.
During a Memorandum of Understanding [MoU] signing with Immigration and Citizenship Services, TPA Chief Executive Officer Eric Mossman emphasized the importance of teamwork.
"Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen an influx of tourists from around the world coming to our country.
"We want PNG Power to ensure a consistent power supply, Water PNG to prevent any water disruptions, and we urge our hotels and tourism companies to enhance their services to create a more welcoming environment for tourists.
"Additionally, internet connectivity is crucial for tourists. Without it, we will struggle to attract visitors," Mossman stated.
He highlighted that the visa process poses several challenges for many tourists.
He was grateful to ICSA for signing this critical MoU, which aims to provide tourists with better visa options and ensure an ideal experience in Papua New Guinea.
"By aligning our efforts with ICSA, we can offer a smooth travel experience for international visitors and strengthen our commitment to making Papua New Guinea an appealing destination for tourism and investment," he said.
Acting Chief Migration Officer of ICSA, Wellington Navasivu, announced that they are working to eliminate visa fees and will introduce Visa-on-Arrival for all tourists.
"Signing this MoU marks a significant step forward. Now that it has been signed, we will begin implementing these changes immediately," Navasivu remarked.
