According to the police reports, it was alleged that the incident took place on November 14th, 2024, at around 8 pm.
“The wife, after finishing marketing returned home. When she saw her husband playing bingo, she was unhappy and started arguing with him. The suspect [her husband] was not happy with her yelling, walked towards her, removed a kitchen knife, and stabbed her back and she fell on the ground.
“The husband immediately got on the cab and rushed her to the hospital unfortunately, she passed away while travelling on the road,” Rubiang said.
Supt. Rubiang said when the husband saw that he alerted his relatives, who then informed the police who were there, so he surrendered himself to the police.
Rubiang further informed the people that there had been other reports of suspicious deaths in the city which police are investigating.
Supt. Rubiang mentioned two other suspicious deaths under investigation, one at Ela Beach and another Gordons.
He urged the public to stay vigilant and inform others about their movement for safety.
“As we have seen and heard the death toll is increasing every month, and we must look after ourselves.
"We must also inform family members or neighbors where we are going so if anything happens, they will know where and who we are with," Supt Rubiang said.
