The people of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville have extended their support to the landslide survivors of Mulitaka in Enga Province.
Bougainville President Ishmael Toroama, accompanied by Finance and Treasury Minister Robin Wilson and Member for Nissan Constituency Didymus Kisso Napto, traveled to Wabag on Wednesday.
This morning, the ABG presented a K200,000.00 cheque to Enga Governor, Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas.
Governor Sir Peter Ipatas expressed his gratitude to President Toroama and the Autonomous Bougainville Government, noting that this gesture strengthens the relationship between the governments and the people of Bougainville and Enga.
Sir Peter and President Toroama emphasized the bond between their regions that has existed for many years, even before the Bougainville Conflict.
Governor Ipatas acknowledged that while the national government is doing its part, the Autonomous Bougainville Government and the Enga Provincial Government can also foster a strong relationship to support each other.
President Toroama affirmed that in times of need, it is important to step up and offer help, and that his government will continue to work closely with the Enga Provincial Government in the future.
