Sibona Jimmy’s all-rounder performance was the deciding factor for the PNG women’s national cricket team at the Pacific Cup finals win in New Zealand on Sunday.

Jimmy’s outstanding field work in the T20 match, was the pick of PNG Lewas bowlers with five wickets from her four overs bowled, and her brilliant fielding, with three run outs as Aoteroa [New Zealand] Maori Women could only post 87 runs in their 20 overs.

Needing 88 runs to win, the Lewas, Tanya Ruma [21 runs not out] third wicket partnership with Jimmy [25 runs] steadied the earlier order collapse, setting the sails for a five wickets victory in PNG women’s run chase.

Jimmy’s brilliance with the bowl and bat was rewarded with the player of the match award.
