‎The difficulty in disseminating important health information to rural health facilities in Milne Bay has greatly affected the progress of health services in the Milne Provincial Health Authority (MBPHA).

‎The launch of its new website and intranet system is expected to greatly improve its information sharing between the Provincial health authority, its health facilities in the rural areas and the general public.

‎The Milne Bay Provincial Health Authority (MBPHA), on Wednesday, launched its website and intranet system as a way to improve communication and information sharing across all its health facilities in the province.

‎The Acting Chief Executive officer, Dr Dale Frank, at the launching said the website and intranet system is very important, especially with information dissemination.

‎"Many a times people ring us asking for information regarding health services, maybe introduction of new fees to certain services, we can't answer everyone who need that information.

Over two-hundred-thousand illicit website blocked


The National Information and Communication Technology Authority, NICTA, and the Office of Censorship are working around the clock to block illicit online content in Papua New Guinea, with more than 200,000 sites now on the national block list.

Speaking to NBC News, NICTA Chief Executive Officer, Lume Polume said the regulator continues to receive reports of unsuitable websites from the Office of Censorship. Once received, the lists are forwarded to all internet service providers, including Starlink, to be blocked from their networks.

Polume said the process is ongoing. Major sites have been shut down, but new ones continue to appear due to high demand.
