The upgrading of a feeder road in the Talasea Local Level Government area of West New Britain Province is now assisting locals to easily transport their cash crops to markets in Kimbe Town.

The Talasea District Development Authority Board provided funding totaling K580,000 to upgrade the 2.6 kilometre Dami One Feeder Road located in the Ward 10 area of Talasea LLG.

Talasea MP, Freddie Reu Kumai officiated at the official opening of the feeder road today.

He told the gathering at Dami One that the upgrading of the feeder road now provides easy access for them to markets in Kimbe.

"For the past 40 years, you have been neglected by successive governments in terms of the maintenance of your feeder roads. You must now make use of the improved road conditions to sell your cash crops like copra and improve your lives," Kumai said.

Kumai also outlined plans to link up all feeder roads in the Talasea LLG to the main Talasea Ring Road.
