The PNG Garamuts Under 19 men’s team has recorded their second win yesterday with a commanding 199-run victory over Indonesia in the ICC U19 Men’s East Asia Pacific [EAP] Division 2 Qualifier in Vanuatu.

PNG posted a strong 298/9 from their allotted 50 overs before producing an impressive bowling performance to dismiss Indonesia for 99 in 29 overs.

The result sees the Garamuts continue their campaign with another emphatic performance, with PNG’s bowling attack proving too strong for the Indonesian batting line-up.

Ware Wala was the standout bowler for the Garamuts, claiming an outstanding 6 wickets for 29 runs from six overs, including one maiden. His spell was instrumental in restricting Indonesia and triggering a steady fall of wickets through the middle overs. Manasa Gaba also made a significant contribution with the ball, taking 2/25 from five overs, including two maidens. Raio Raio claimed one wicket for just 15 runs from three overs, while Ronnie Malara took the other wicket.

Indonesia struggled to build partnerships after losing early wickets. Their top score came from Divit Nanda, who made 25 from 34 deliveries, while Kavin Neeraj Chaddha contributed 15 and Mahendra Aji Yuda Pratama and I Gusti Ngurah Putu Suardana Putra each scored 16.

The Garamuts maintained pressure throughout the innings, with Indonesia eventually bowled out for 99 in the 29th over.

Earlier, PNG’s total of 298/9 from 50 overs provided the foundation for the comprehensive victory.

The PNG Garamuts will now turn their attention to their next match in the ICC U19 Men’s EAP Division 2 Qualifier as they continue their push in the tournament.
