Madang Rugby League Association wishes Kandes luck

The Madang Rugby League Association Incorporate is throwing its support behind the Morobe Kandes as they take on the Rabaul Gurias this weekend in the major semi-final of the Digicel ExxonMobil challenge.

Madang Rugby League Association President Albert Tobe extended Madang's support to the Kandes ahead of Sunday's game in Port Moresby.

"The presence of the Kandes in Madang this season has greatly transformed and elevated the standard of rugby league competition in our province. We sincerely appreciate the Kandes players, officials and management for making the decision to choose Madang as your home base.

"As a new entrant into the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup competition this year, you have already demonstrated to the entire rugby league fraternity in Papua New Guinea that you are not here merely to make up the numbers.

"You are here to make a difference, and you have demonstrated that exceptionally well in your inaugural season.

President Tobe assured Kandes coach Stanley Tepend that rugby league family in Madang will be supporting through their game this weekend.
