Land Commission signs MOU with MBPG
The National Lands Commission has sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Milne Bay Province for the setup of their southern regional hub.
Chief Land Commissioner Molean Kilepak says its in line with a key deliverable in their current Corporate Plan to decentralize services and encourage access for the people of Papua New Guinea.
Molean, who led a delegation to Alotau last week for Land Commission business, ended with the MOU signing with the Milne Bay Administration.
It's a first for the decentralization of their services in over 50years, to establish presence, and to clear up any confusion wuth their role and that of the Department of Lands and Physical Planning.
Milne Bay has welcomed the move, happy to host the Land Commissions southern region hub and bring their important service right to peoples doorsteps.

The National Lands Commission has also identified regional hubs in Immbongu for the Highlands region, Vanimo for Momase and Lorengau for the Islands region, MOUs being worked on.
The PNG Lands Commission is an entity responsible for land quasi-judicial indentifying and dxlaring authenticity of land claims for ownership before issuance of Land Titles and was formed in 2022 at the merger of statutory entities the previous Land Titles Commission and the National Land Commission.
