Cassowaries clinch Boroko Motors Isuzu T20 Smash title in thrilling final

The Cassowaries Men have been crowned the champions of the 2026 Boroko Motors Isuzu T20 Smash after pulling off a tense six-wicket victory over the Mariners Men at Amini Park on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 109, the Cassowaries kept their composure to reach 110/4 with just three balls to spare in the final over, securing the prestigious domestic cricket title.

The Mariners were earlier bowled out for 108 in 19 overs after a high-paced first innings.

Lega Siaka anchored the successful chase for the Cassowaries, top-scoring with a composed 45 runs off 38 balls. His innings featured three boundaries and a six, keeping the required run rate well under control.

Hila Vare also provided crucial support at the top of the order with a solid 24 runs before falling to Mariners bowler A Oru.

Ultimately, it was Arua Gau who took home the Player of the Match honors for his standout performance during the grand final.

The tournament continues to serve as a premier platform for developing domestic cricket talent in Papua New Guinea.
