The Judiciary and all staff of the National Judicial Staff Services NJSS, have been urged to continue working as normal, despite reports of the referral of the country's Chief Justice, to the Acting Public Prosecutor.

Justice Minister, Attorney General and Judicial and Legal Services Commission Chairman, Pila Niningi said this in a statement, when providing an update on the issue.

Minister Niningi said that the administrative operations and functions of the Judiciary must continue as normal, because the Chief Justice has not been charged as yet.

He said that the head of the country's Judiciary, was only referred in a notice by the Ombudsman Commission, but a tribunal has not been set up as yet, to look into the allegations levelled against him.

Niningi also said that once that is done, the Chief Justice will step aside and the Deputy Chief Justice or a senior judge will be appointed to act in the vacant position.
