SP Brewery donates K11,000 to PMGH cancer unit
SP Brewery has donated K11,000 to the Oncology Unit of Port Moresby General Hospital after its corporate darts teams won the Port Moresby Metro Corporate Charity Darts Competition.
The company’s teams, the Brew Masters and the Draught Masters, presented the cheque on Friday, 5 December, at the SP Brewery Head Office in Port Moresby.
Team captain and SP Brewery company lawyer, Joshua Wanji, said the team was proud to support patients and families battling cancer.
“Winning the competition was an honour, but the true reward comes from being able to support those who need it most. We hope this donation will make a meaningful difference to those facing very difficult journeys,” Wanji said.
He added that supporting the cancer unit reflected SP Brewery’s values of caring for people and its commitment to the community.
Pediatrician Dr Benjamin Daur received the donation on behalf of the hospital and thanked the company for its support.
“This donation will help us carry out essential tests that allow for timely diagnosis and treatment. We are truly grateful for the support, especially during this festive season,” Dr Daur said.
SP Brewery was among 35 corporate teams in Port Moresby that took part in the charity darts competition.
