Water problems solved at Madang Provincial Hospital
Patients and staff at the Madang Provincial Hospital will no longer have to endure prolonged water problems, they will now have constant water supply following the recent installation of two new Southern Cross tanks.
The Madang Provincial Government for purchasing two new Southern Cross tanks that have been installed at the back of the hospital.
Water problems at the hospital became a legacy issue over the years after the old Southern Cross tanks were rendered dysfunctional.
The two new tanks were purchased by the Madang Government's Provincial Support Improvement Program (PSIP) funds following a decision reached by the Joint Provincial Planning and Budget Priorities Committee or JPP & BPC.
The tanks were officially turned on yesterday by Governor Ramsey Pariwa; witnessed by the Chairman of the Madang Provincial Health Authority, Dr. Boga Figa, MaPHA's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Martin Daimen, members of the senior executive management of MaPHA, staff of the provincial hospital, and the presidents- elect for Transgogol Local Level Government, Morris Ban, and Yawar LLG, Lakus Semos.
In the last two years, 2023 and 2024, Pariwa forked out money from his own pockets and purchased two 9, 000L tanks for the hospital.
This prompted him to have the old Southern Cross tanks replaced.
Governor Pariwa stressed teamwork, is important in government service delivery.
"Without teamwork, government service delivery will fail." Governor Pariwa said.
"The Madang Government's intervention is timely to help fix legacy issues the provincial hospital and MaPHA overall has been facing," he said.
The elated Governor turned on the tanks yesterday afternoon in the presence of MaPHA executives, board members, and hospital staff.
