PNG defeats Netherlands by 8 runs in thriller

Papua New Guinea has claimed a hard-fought victory against the Netherlands in Match 15 of the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2025, triumphing by 8 runs this afternoon at Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok.

PNG posted 126/2 in 20 overs, setting a competitive target that proved just out of reach for the Netherlands, who finished on 118/9 after their 20 overs.

The PNG Lewas bowling attack held firm under pressure, with standout performances securing the win in the final overs. Player of the match was PNG's Henao Thomas. Thomas delivered a match-win, claim of 3 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs, including key breakthroughs that slowed the Dutch chase at critical moments.
