MBPG supports students in Schools of Excellence
In its fourth year running, 82 Grade 11 students from Milne Bay attending schools of excellence around PNG were supported with laptops and book allowances.
The last lot at Passam were delivered a laptop each and K500 book allowance as has been the annual commitment under the province's Provincial Service Improvement Program.
Its the provinces' way of encouraging academic excellence, program coordinators say since the introduction of this incentive in 2021, numbers of students from Milne Bay making into these schools has steadily risen.
While they would have loved for presentations to be made at start of the year, challenges of procurement and transportation had pushed their best efforts to the end of year.
Governor Gordon Wesley says his priority to support human resource and the future leaders of Milne Bay remains and this was one focused avenue.
82 Grade 11 students in the five schools of Wawin, Sogeri, Aiyura, Passam and Kerevat were recipients of this Provincial government support this year.
