Bulolo DDA steps in to ensure safety of UOG Morobe students
The Bulolo District Development Authority [DDA], led by Chairman and local MP Sam Basil Jr., has taken swift action to protect Bulolo and Morobe students at the University of Goroka following recent clashes with local residents.
To ensure their safety, the DDA arranged for a Mobile Squad 15 unit and two buses to escort the students. The intervention aims to provide secure transport and peace of mind to families concerned about their children’s wellbeing.
Basil said his office was maintaining close communication with student leaders, university administration, and security personnel to ensure a safe passage home for all affected students.
“I have instructed my team to maintain communications with our student leaders, school administration, and security personnel to ensure the safe passage of our students back home,” he said.
The University Council is expected to release a statement soon to clarify the situation and outline further measures to prevent similar incidents.
