Second major landslide in Enga kills over 20 people

A second tragedy has again struck the Enga Province, this time another major landslide in Kukas Village in the Minamb Valley, of the Wapenmanda District of Enga Province.
Minamb Valley Peace Foundation Chairman, Lasro Mola Panga, told NBC News that this landslide has already claimed more than 20 lives, but more could still be trapped under the rubbles.
Mr. Mola Panga said that they currently don't know the total number of people being killed in this landslide, and the figure may still go up, after they do a head count of everyone.
He also said that locals have begun rescue efforts, and are digging deep to find any bodies that maybe trapped underneath.
This is the second major landslide disaster in the province, after the Mulitaka landslide on the 24th of May 2024, which claimed 163 lives.
This is a developing story and we expect more.
