Huge crowd welcomes Brisbane Broncos to Mt Hagen
Mt Hagen City came alive today as thousands of excited fans gathered to welcome the Brisbane Broncos upon their arrival.
The team was met with cheers and colourful cultural performances from local groups at Kagamuga Airport, as both the men’s and women’s Broncos teams proudly displayed their 2025 Premiership Trophy.
Western Highlands Governor Wai Rapa, Provincial Police Commander Chief Superintendent John Sagom, and other local leaders were present to greet the team. The Broncos were later escorted in a motorcade to Mara Haus, the provincial headquarters, for a meet and greet with business representatives and fans.
After the meet and greet, the Brisbane Broncos were escorted to Queens Park, where thousands of excited fans packed the venue to show their love and admiration for the NRL club.
The atmosphere was electric as supporters, young and old, cheered and scrambled to catch a glimpse of their rugby league heroes.
The excitement was so overwhelming that the players were unable to address the crowd or share a few words on stage.
The Broncos spent about ten minutes at Queens Park before departing for Kagamuga Airport to continue their tour to Goroka.
