The Hela Provincial Government is working to improve educational infrastructure across the province, with a focus on raising the overall quality of education.

Governor Philip Undialu said education remains a top priority for his administration, highlighting progress in establishing new institutions, including primary and secondary schools, as well as Technical Vocational Education and Training [TVET] centers.

During the recent opening of three staff houses for Pai Hope Institute in Tari Pori District, Governor Undialu highlighted the importance of creating a learning environment that supports academic excellence and practical skills.

He emphasized the need for essential facilities in all schools, such as well-equipped libraries, computer labs with e-library programs, science laboratories, and specialized workshops for TVET programs.

“During a recent consultative meeting with school principals and TVET center managers, I announced plans to construct 50 multipurpose four-in-one classrooms that will house computer labs and other critical learning spaces.

"This infrastructure upgrade is aimed at fostering digital literacy and hands-on learning across various disciplines,” he stated.

Additionally, Governor Undialu said that standardising school uniforms in the schools would also be a focus area for them.

He further said his vision for the next four to five years is to transform Hela Province into a model of quality education, where students will access skilled teachers, and a curriculum that will prepare them for the future.
