Emmanuel Bainok, an 18-year-old student of mixed parentage from Western and Morobe provinces, has been named the Dux of STEM subjects at Aiyura National School of Excellence.

He was among the 280 Grade 12 students who graduated during the school's 48th graduation ceremony on yesterday.

A graduate of Lae Secondary School, Emmanuel was selected to join Aiyura School of Excellence for his Grade 11 and 12 studies in 2024.

Emmanuel describes this achievement as a moment that he and his family will always treasure.

"I've always dreamed of being the top student, or dux, in Grade 8 and Grade 10", "However, I consistently found myself in second or third place", Mr Bainok said

"Being the dux for the first time means everything to me and my family,"It's a truly unforgettable experience",he said.

Emmanuel's parents were beaming with pride at the graduation ceremony, thrilled by their son's achievement.

"His self-discipline, sacrifices, and hard work have truly paid off," they said, echoing their pride and joy.

Emmanuel attributes his academic achievements to his dedication to his schoolwork and the inspiration he draws from his Christian faith.

According to Emmanuel, there's no secret formula for academic success.

Instead, he credits his achievements to prioritizing learning, staying interested in his subjects, and having a strong support system, including good mentors, friends, and family.
