The new Chief Executive Officer of the Dei District Development Authority, Raphael Koldop, has called for unity among board members and the people of Western Highlands’ Dei District.

Koldop, who was sworn in as the legitimate CEO earlier this year following a court ruling in April, urged leaders to put aside disputes surrounding the CEO position and the death of late MP Steven Pim. He said the focus should now be on delivering services until the 2027 national elections.

“I am very thankful for accepting me as the new CEO of Dei DDA,” Koldop told officials. “We must all work together, forget what had happened in the past and look forward.”

He also thanked the Western Highlands Provincial Administration, the Department of Personnel Management, Finance, and the Public Service Commission for recognising his appointment and facilitating the transfer of powers.

Acting DDA Chairman Jerry Anis welcomed Koldop, saying the district had lacked representation in parliament since the passing of MP Pim.

“Now that Raphael Koldop has taken over the CEO post, I will work with him and the DDA board to carry Dei forward,” Anis said.

Koldop succeeds former CEO Steven Korowa. Since officially assuming office in August, he has overseen the district’s first Independence Day celebrations at Muglamp headquarters, held on 15–16 September.
