Moresby North East schools celebrate 50th Anniversary

All schools, including secondary and tertiary institutions in the Moresby North East-Electorate, are receiving financial support from the office of the Member to celebrate the country's 50th anniversary.

Local member John Kaupa says the initiative aims to ensure that young children who will be the next leaders of our country have proper celebrations of the milestone journey of PNG and remember it for the next 50 years to come.

It's the time of the year where schools around the country celebrate to mark the country's independence This year, however, is special as it's the 50th anniversary.

In Port Moresby, the member for Moresby North East John Kaupa wishes to see all schools in his electorate celebrate this important milestone in full and style.

He believes, students are the next leaders who will bring this country forward in the next 50 years, hence they must join the elders now in celebrating the 50th Anniversary.

Coronation Primary celebrated the event yesterday, where the officials from the electorate joined them.

School principal Kini Ravu thanked the members for the support.

Holy Rosary Primary Head Teacher, Stanley Toney, thanked the local member for ensuring schools could take part in the anniversary celebrations.”

The office of the MNE dished out 5 thousand Kina to each primary and 10 thousand kina to secondary schools to assist with their independence celebrations.

This weekend, John Kaupa will present 20 thousand Kina to the universities in the North East Electorate, which includes PAU and the Medical Faculty, among others.
