The public service housing project for the Yangoru-Saussia District in the East Sepik is making steady progress, with four of the planned eight houses now completed.

District Administrator Jeffrey Leni confirmed the development, stating that the housing project is designed to accommodate government sectoral heads stationed in the district.

“This is a strategic investment in strengthening service delivery and ensuring our public servants have the dignity and stability they deserve,” Leni said.

Each of the three-bedroom high-set homes is fully furnished, equipped with both white and brown goods, and built to modern standards.

At a cost of K450,000 per unit, the project reflects the district’s commitment to long-term development and institutional support.

The initiative is part of a broader push to enhance living conditions for public servants in rural areas, aiming to attract and retain skilled personnel in the district.

Completion of the remaining four houses is expected soon, with the district administration closely monitoring progress to ensure quality and timely delivery.

MEanwhile, Mr Leni, on behalf of the people of Yangoru-Saussia, also took time to acknowledge Yangoru Saussia District Development Authority Board and Chairman Hon Richard Maru for approving the institutional housing project.
