Maprik DDA strengthens health, education and community reconciliation

Member for Maprik, Libert Kapris, has delivered major support to health and education services in the district, while also leading reconciliation efforts to restore community harmony.
During his visit last Friday, Kapris, through the Maprik District Development Authority [DDA], presented two fully equipped Land Cruiser ambulances to improve health care delivery in remote areas. The vehicles were allocated to Alama Health Centre in Albiges Mablep LLG and Brukam Health Centre in Bubuta Muhian LLG.
“These ambulances will ensure that patients in hard-to-reach areas receive timely medical attention,” Kapris said.

In education, the MP inspected ongoing works at the Sir Lus School of Excellence, where construction is progressing to meet project timelines. The school is expected to provide improved learning facilities and higher quality education once completed.
Kapris also visited Timingire Village in Brukam, where he presented Bel Kol [peace] money as part of a traditional reconciliation process between the community and the local school. The gesture is intended to resolve past tensions and allow the school to reopen.

The Maprik MP said the initiatives was DDA’s commitment to health, education and community unity as key drivers of district development.
